Apoligies for bumping, but I'm having a hard time designing a fluid page... So was gonna ask again... Is there really no way that I could have a fixed width homepage and keep the forums how they are? (dunno what to call it)

You said the wrapper is a common element and would change across all pages... is there a way to make 2 wrappers?

Any help appreciated, please and thankyou.

(Here's the link again, save u going back a page)

There may be a way to add a separate wrapper for the main page and the forum area. But, since you currently have the forums in the main (portal) page I really don't think that it would work.

Hmm... I'm not 100% what you mean... could you please elaborate? Do you mean it would only work if I have a homepage outside of SMF?

Nevermind, managed it with alot of help from a friend.

Because my forum isn't in the root dir (its in .../forum/) it means I can add an index.php in the root dir as the homepage, then include the header and footer from SMF... and then I kinda stopped understanding from there :P

But here's how it'll look (not live/ready yet)

I'm sure you can view source if you're interested in the code :P

Thanks alot guys.

You could have gotten the same look using your portal, without the extra work of creating a new index.php.  ;)

With portal blocks on your home page and the forums on their own section. Just as my site does.
