When I ask to SA dev, they said :

Quote
DS themes are a pain to edit, as they remove or replace many options from the default's index, such as the quick login box which is where the fb login button is displayed. We've added the login button in a few other locations for themes that do not have the quick login box, unfortunately they require clicking at least the login or register button.

I am not sure who the "dev" is but in all actuality, DS themes are put together extremely well and are perhaps the easiest themes to edit of most custom themes. If your "dev" cant edit a DS theme then personally I wouldn't suspect their mods to be too impressive, especially when stating;

yes that function isnt in the script any more....

Why was the "function" removed from the script in the first place? I mean, isn't the function in question one of the main purposes of the mod?

Because as he stated in the rest of that quote:

however in the next revision you be able to add the fb login button with the hooks system im working on so you have to wait till then

The function to put the fb login button on the main page of the forum was removed.   The button is still on the login page.    The function was removed (I believe) as he has released there is a better way to go with this, using the hooks system, which will make it much more compatible with custom themes.

The "dev" term probably gets confusing as the site is named SA Mod Development  (shortened to SA Mod Dev often)  I think  baracuda was referring to "dev" as the site, not the developer as the person who replied to him about this was at first was not the developer and is an admin on the site.

Anyhoo. ..  I have access to the test/in development board there and he's moving along with the next revision which will put that button back on the main page.

Well then I suggest that the op contact the "dev" for any future assistance since the issue in question has absolutely nothing to do with the theme in question and seems to be a mod issue.
If the mod functioned properly with our RC5 theme version then there is no reason at all for it not to function with our 2.0 version, other than a malfunction with the mod itself.
I am not going to sit here, wasting time attempting to make a mod work simply because the mod author altered the code so it does not function properly and has an attitude or a predigism against our themes.

Good luck baracuda.   ;)

i can tell you for sure that the button that showed on rc5 was added manualy

it will only truly work on themes based on default curve theme other themes you have to add it manulay it has always been like this

this is cos some themes dont use all the origanal code like dz themes i have nothing against the themes here

and the show_facebook() function was removed in the 2.0 version of the mod cos it was a compleat rewrite and api update your just have to wait out a day or 2 and i will realse a new revision that enables you to show various hooks [fb plugins] with one function including the fb login button

it not the themes fault nor the mods fault

Just saying, if a mod author does not bother to update a mod but instead attempts to blame the theme author for the mods malfunction, well then the mod author is just taking the easy way out.

dude loose the attitude and grow up not once have i said it was the themes fault get your facts strait

im the developer of the mod in question

the comment about dz themes was not from me

now i would appreicate it if you would stop attacking me and my mod i find your attitude disgusting you should no better

so just to get things strait the mod find

<div class="info">'.sprintf($txt['welcome_guest'], $txt['guest_title']).'</div>

and injects the fb login button to the template  via the buffer

if this <div class="info">'.sprintf($txt['welcome_guest'], $txt['guest_title']).'</div>

isnt in the theme it wont show as simple as that most people code mods for the default theme and that is exsacly what i have done

for themes that dont have this reqires you to add it manualy wich cant not currently be done but you will be able to in the next revision

Dude, did I once mention your name here? Looks like someone else needs to grow up and adjust their attitude. You are not active on this site enough have an attitude here. Don't push it. If you want to pitch a bitch then I suggest that you begin with the one who stated that the comment was from the developer.
