I downloaded one render fr Planetrenders.net, but I was kinda hesitant to use it bec I don't want to get in trouble.

That's why they post them, for others to use. You can claim your finished design as long as you don't claim to be the designer who cut the render from it's original image.

I am still trying to find out where it says "smudge / abstract sig".  I do not see that anywhere.
